Pedro Martinez Marín / MAINMAN.
Pedro Martinez Marín (Mainman) is an artist born in Barcelona.
The work of Spanish contemporary artist Pedro Martinez Marin is influenced by the science fiction literary / cinematographic genre, sitting somewhere within the spectrum of futuristic narratives.

His work is inspired by nature, by the fragility of its beauty and its vulnerability as a metaphor for the ephemeral nature of our own existence and is often composed in dense, though congruous, arrangements of ambiguous motifs that evoke plant matter, machine parts or cellular structures.

He experiments with the tension between chaos and control getting rid of boundaries and using unconventional materials. It feels like he expands as if he wanted to discover a new beginning with a very personal language improvised and expressive, also linked to the very concept of modern civilization thrown into question. He folds the paint with brushstrokes and stains that show a strong emotional content. This process is for Martinez Marín like a catharsis of life, a wild celebration of freedom.

He has become a painter that goes beyond the codes of figuration to express in abstract form, moods, feelings, that is, the inner universe of the artist himself, his individuality, his existential drive.
Within the consistency of Martinez Marin’s oeuvre there are flecks of tension between futurism and realism, the galactic and the dystopian, the abandoned and the reliclike
He currently resides between Barcelona and Vejer de la Frontera (Cádiz).
Has a remarkable career in the music field.
He has studied at Eina (Graphic design. Barcelona 1990-92). Barcelona Industrial School (Jewelry design 1995-96). Postgraduate in “Body and art”, Alas (Barcelona 2016-17). Barcelona Academy of Art (Drawing and painting, 2017–2019).
He is as well a certified therapist in Co-Active Training Institute (San Francisco, U.S.A.), Strozzi Institute (San Francisco, U.S.A.).
